WHY THIS WEBSITE?

1. Since 1995, the Fund for the City of New York's Center on Municipal Government Performance (CMGP) has been identifying ways to measure and report about government performance from the public’s point of view. CMGP’s research revealed that the public values government that is:

Courteous
Knowledgeable
Timely
Responsive

This mandate can be remembered as

2. Until now there has been no way for the public to “cast their ballot” on the treatment they receive from government.

3. And until now there has been no way for government to get an overview of the public’s experiences with its frontlines, so that government can know what is working well and what needs to be fixed to serve the public better.
