The Internet-Based Domestic Violence Protection Project
enables victims/survivors of domestic violence to prepare
the court papers they need to file for a protective order.
Victims can prepare papers with the assistance of an Advocate
in a safe location using Internet-based technology to guide
them through a series of questions. The system helps victims
determine whether they are eligible for protective orders and
asks the questions needed to construct a petition. In domestic
violence programs with specially prepared computers, victims can print
petitions to take to court.
